Charles Stanton (Stan) Perry
Stan Perry’s practice spans the gamut of product liability and mass tort litigation. He is known, in particular, for his defense of clients in toxic tort matters, assisting clients where there is alleged harm – to people, property, or reputations – caused by chemical exposures, releases, or contamination.
He has extensive experience working with teams of lawyers and clients across many jurisdictions to effectively manage and resolve – through trial, settlement, or dismissal – toxic tort lawsuits asserting similar claims and theories of liability. Perry has worked with experts to rebut allegations of exposures and causation, including motions to challenge experts under Daubert, Frye, and other standards.
Licensed in Texas and Illinois, Perry has handled lawsuits in those states and in numerous others, including California, New York, and Louisiana, over the last 20 years. Perry has served as national benzene counsel for a global energy company since 2008.
Perry has been named in Texas Super Lawyers for environmental litigation for more than 10 years (2005-2016), regularly chairs and speaks at major industry conferences, including the IEL Energy Litigation Conference and the HarrisMartin Benzene Litigation Conference, and has published over a dozen publications and speeches, covering topics as diverse as overcoming judicial bias to United States Supreme Court decisions addressing personal jurisdiction.
