Judge Ed Kinkeade
The Honorable James E. Kinkeade was appointed to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas on November 15, 2002. The American Bar Association rated him Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination. Prior to this judicial appointment, Judge Kinkeade served as Associate Municipal Judge in Irving, Texas from 1976 to 1980, judge on the Dallas County Criminal Court No. 10 in 2010, judge on the Texas 194th District Court from 1981 to 1988, and justice on the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals from 1988 to 2002.
Judge Kinkeade currently presides over the multidistrict litigation for In re DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., Pinnacle Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation. Judge Kinkeade has been an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law since 1981, and is currently the Jurist in Residence at Baylor University School of Law.
Judge Kinkeade received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 1973 and his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 1974. He graduated from the University of Virginia with an LL.M. in 1998.
