Brett Burney is the founder of Burney Consultants, which provides independent and consulting services to corporate executives and legal professionals. Burney helps train firms through e-discovery difficulties, provides recommendations for litigation support, and consults with corporations on lowering the costs associated with litigation by providing recommendations on managing voluminous amounts of data.
Burney is an author and speaker on legal technology topics and has been a featured speaker at various legal technology conferences. Burney was the Chair for the ABA Techshow Planning Board in 2015. He is a frequent speaker at local and state bar associations nationwide and has been quoted by TechnoLawyer, Legaltech News and the ABA Journal. Burney regularly trains lawyers on integrating Macs and iPads into their practice. Before his transition into consulting, he worked at the firm of Thompson Hine LLP.
Burney received his B.A. degree in English, Music, and Political Science from the University of North Texas, and his J.D. in 2000 from the University of Dayton School of Law.
