Benjamin R. (Ben) Ostapuk
Benjamin R. Ostapuk is a vice president in the Law and Policy Group and the director of the intellectual property legal group at Intel Corporation. He leads the legal team responsible for patent development, patent licensing and transactions, patent litigation, trademarks and brands, and legal support for standards.
In his previous position as the director of litigation, he led the legal team responsible for patent litigation matters and related strategic intellectual property (IP) issues for Intel and its affiliates worldwide. Ostapuk also spent four years as senior litigation counsel at Intel, serving as a member of the company’s litigation group. During this period, he spent a year living and working in Munich, Germany. Ostapuk joined Intel in 2010 from the law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner and outside litigation counsel handling complex patent litigation matters. Earlier in his career, Ostapuk was an associate at international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he served as outside counsel specializing in patent issues and complex commercial litigation.
Ostapuk holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Arizona and earned his JD degree from Stanford Law School at Stanford University. A member of Intel’s Hispanic Leadership Council, he has been recognized throughout his Intel career by respected industry organizations and publications. In 2016, Ostapuk was a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow. Also that year, Intellectual Asset Management magazine named him to its annual IAM Strategy 300 list of the world’s leading IP strategists. He was also tapped as a Corporate IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property magazine from 2015–2018. In 2013, the national leadership organization DiversityMBA included Ostapuk on its annual list of Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive and Emerging Leaders. He was also honored as a Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility in 2011.
